Dolomite is a mineral comprised of Mg in addition to Ca in limestone (CaCO3). It can be colourless, white, cream, pinkish or bluish.
Uses of Dolomite
In the manufacture of refractory bricks:
Dolomite is used in place of magnesite in the manufacture of refractory bricks due to its heat-resistant properties.

In the iron-steel industry:
It can be used as a flux thanks to its slag forming properties.
In landscaping
As backfill material:
It is used in the chemical industry, especially the dyeing industry.
In concrete production
In glass manufacturing:
Dolomite is one of the main materials used in glass structures.
